Join us to deepen your de-escalation skills and take your practice to the next level. Connect with other library staff and leave with advanced strategies and techniques ready to implement in your library. The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) is bringing an Advanced De-escalation Skills Workshop to library staff across the state. Open to all library staff, workshops will be held from late September through December, and in February and March.
The Advanced De-escalation Skills Workshop is a half-day workshop crafted for library staff in Texas public libraries who work directly with the public. This workshop expands upon TSLAC's 2025 workshop series covering the basics of de-escalation and personal safety led by Marty Reinsel, an experienced clinical educator and consultant with over 25 years of expertise in behavioral health and trauma-informed care. This time Marty will be joining us in person!
This advanced session will focus on navigating complex interactions, managing intense emotional escalation, and applying trauma-informed strategies to real-world library scenarios. Participants are highly encouraged to have completed the introductory session before attending.
